Kelly Boswell, CPA and Tax Manager at ADKF, has served as Treasurer on the board for the San Antonio Independent School District Foundation since July 2016. Kelly moved to Texas from Ohio in 2013 and is excited to be a part of the community especially working with an organization that is instrumental in shaping the lives of future generations and future leaders of our beautiful city. SAISD Foundation supports the San Antonio Independent School District. Throughout the year the Foundation awards various types of grants to teachers and scholarships to students among other financial assistance. They have awarded over 800 grants to teachers in the past 5 years.
Throughout this month, 75 SAISD teachers will be receiving $175,000 in Innovative Grants that will help enrich classrooms by allowing for the purchase of innovative teaching tools and to create intriguing projects for students. The teachers applied for the grants last spring. Kelly assisted with awarding of the grants for a tricycle track at Nelson Early Childhood Education Center, and a classroom set of ukuleles at DeZavala Elementary School. She says “it is exciting to be part of the prize patrol and surprise the teachers and students with the great news”.
Besides Kelly’s involvement on the board, ADKF supports SAISD Foundation by being a proud sponsor for their annual Inspire Awards which takes place in October. At the Inspire Awards present, past and future stars of SAISD are honored and celebrated.
