Twenty-five ADKF volunteers spent their day as Mad Scientist at the Boysville Camp Wildbeast this summer. Countless hours were spent by “lead scientists” to prepare activities for the children at Boysville ranging in ages from 4-12. Several of the activities involved our accountants conducting mini-experiments before the big day. The children had the opportunity to make their own custom lab coat, crystals, unpoppable bubbles, straw rockets, slime, lava bottles, exploding Mentos and diet coke experiments, and bell pepper volcanos. Boysville children enjoyed learning and playing with positive role models and the volunteers loved spending the day getting crafty and giving their ten-key a break. Camp Wildbeast gives Boysville supporters the opportunity to supply the materials, activities, volunteers, and lunch for the day to the children.
Boysville, a Texas Home for Boys and Girls, has been ADKF’s client for more than 20 years. At ADKF we love to volunteer our time and talents to these amazing organizations. Boysville mission is to, “Provide a safe family environment for children in need so they may become responsible adults.” The day was so rewarding that we couldn’t tell who was having a better time the kids or the accountants! We proudly display the group picture and thank you cards the children wrote in the office. We encourage active involvement in community and civic activities to continue the growth of our great city.
Huge thank you to our amazing volunteers: Aaron, Adrianna, Aiden, Anette, *Angela, Ashley, Colin, *Cristina, Elain, Janine, Joe R., Jennifer, John B., Kathy, Kelsie, Leila, Luis, Lynn, *Maria, *Melanie, *Mercedes, Natalie, *Paula, Scotty, Susan.
