This summer, our team has channeled its energy into making a meaningful impact, both within our community and our own firm. At ADKF, we believe in more than just providing exceptional service; we strive to build strong, lasting relationships with our clients and the communities they serve. This summer, we set out with a mission to engage, support, and give back through a series of impactful volunteer activities and fun internal events. From packing essentials to perfecting our cornhole skills, here’s a peek into the vibrant, fulfilling activities we've been up to lately.
Who knew that something as small as a shoebox could hold so much hope? Our enthusiastic team gathered for the annual United Way Shoebox Project, where we packed toiletry kits filled with essentials for men, women, and children. The real magic happened when we decorated these boxes, transforming them into little packages of joy and excitement. Each kit was meticulously packed and lovingly decorated, ready to bring a smile to someone in need. These kits were then distributed to various agencies and organizations around the city, spreading positivity far and wide.
With the same spirit of giving, we took our enthusiasm from the Shoebox Project to the greens for the SACADA Pars for Prevention golf tournament. Sponsored by dedicated teams, including our spirited team of four, the event was a fantastic blend of fun and philanthropy. As we aimed for birdies, we also raised awareness and funds for SACADA’s various programs in drug and alcohol prevention, intervention, and recovery support. It was a day where every swing made a difference, and every putt had a purpose!
Transitioning from the golf course to the shelter, our love for animals led us to the Animal Defensive League. Here, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work. Volunteers diligently cleaned dog kennels and changed cat litter, ensuring a clean and comfortable environment for our furry friends. We also learned about the shelter’s intake process, what to do if we come across an animal in need, and the essential items needed to keep the shelter running. It was a heartwarming experience, filled with wagging tails, purring cats, and the satisfaction of knowing we were able to help some of the most vulnerable members of our society.
Continuing our journey of service, our volunteers headed to Boysville, a children’s home and shelter, to help prepare the space for upcoming renovations. We moved furniture and cleared the way for new flooring, transforming the area into a fresh, welcoming environment. It was a day of hard work, camaraderie, and our team was grateful to be a part in making a brighter future for the residents.
Our commitment to growth and fun didn’t stop at community volunteering. This summer, ADKF embarked on a journey of learning and camaraderie within our organization. Our Summer of Learning Series allowed our senior team members to present sessions and training for various levels of staff. It was a fantastic opportunity to build skills, share knowledge, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
And what’s summer without a bit of friendly competition? Our ongoing Cornhole Tournament has been a hit, bringing staff together for some lighthearted fun and bonding. With bean bags flying and laughter echoing through the air, it’s been a perfect way to unwind and strengthen our team spirit.
As we reflect on our summer of giving back, we are filled with pride and gratitude. Our collective efforts have not only made a positive impact on our community but also strengthened our bonds as a team. We look forward to more opportunities to serve, learn, and grow together, making each moment count and every action meaningful.
Here’s to a summer well spent and many more adventures to come!
